How to use these guides
Planning a Cappadocia trip, in order
Four decisions, in the order that saves the most trouble. Each one has a guide behind it.
Start with the dates, not the tours
Cappadocia changes more by month than by itinerary. May and October fly almost every morning; December to February the balloons are grounded more often, the valleys are empty and the prices halve. Pick the month first, then the number of nights, then the tours. Best time to visit Cappadocia.
Two nights is the honest minimum
One balloon morning, one backup morning, and time for both the Red and Green tours. Anything shorter and a single weather call can cost you the reason you came. Day-trippers from Istanbul can still see the north of the region and be back the same night. How many days do you need?.
Getting here decides the first day
