Göreme puts you where the tours pick up and the balloons land, at the cost of noise and coach traffic. Ürgüp is a real town with proper restaurants, ten minutes away. Uçhisar sits highest, with the best views and the fewest places to eat. The town decides more about your trip than the room does. Göreme, Ürgüp or Uçhisar compared.
Thick rock keeps them cool in August and warm in February, but the good ones are dry and properly ventilated; the cheap ones are not. Windows are small by nature, so rooms are dim.
